Ebben a festői világban csend honol. Az “aranyidejét” élő művész ezt a csendet használja fel arra, hogy határozott, vagy lágy kontúrokkal övezett barnák, okkerek, sárgák, mély zöldek, vagy vörösek segítségével asszociációkra csábítsa a nézőt. Pontosítsunk.

Egy olyan festő kiállítását láthatjuk itt, most, akinek képei Európa nagy gyüjteményeiben vannak. Kornis képek vannak a párizsi Louvre-ban, a Menton-i
Modern Múzeumban, a Passaui Modern Képtárban, a Pécsi modern Képtárban, a Magyar Nemzeti Galériában. A bécsi Albertinában és a bécsi MUMOK Ludwig gyűjteményében – hogy csak néhányat említsek.
Tehát egy nemzetközileg ismert és elismert festő képeit láthatjuk itt.
Kornis egy fantasztikus, életigenlő ember és művész, mert egyrészt konstruktív módszerekkel, másrészt érzelmi indíttatásból fest organikus figurákat.
Mindezeket összefogja a rendkívül kultúrált kolorit és egy olyan metafizikus tartalom, amely az élet nagy rejtelmeit, annak értelmét keresi.

Kornis György képei “beszélnek”. Festményei úgy ragadják meg és adják vissza azok mondanivalóját, mint ahogy a beszélt nyelv használja a hasonlatokat. Kornis láthatóvá teszi a szavakat. A szó és a kép azonossá lesznek valamennyi festményén.
Ahogy ő mondja “hatvan éve ugyanazt a képet festem”.
Színeinek szuggesztív hatása van. Ezek a képek, színek és megjelenési formák kizárólag az ő festői nyelvén szólalnak ilyen módon.
A végtelen nyugalom, de ugyanakkor az a nagyívű lendület, amely képeinek sajátja – adja festői ars poeticájának mélységes emberszeretét.

Exists artist, whose painting more or less easily surrenders to the person who approaches to it. The paintings of master Kornis are not of that type. His pictures demand serious intellectual work from us. George Kornis, independently from ideologies, trends and schools, was always painting essentially for himself.
In this world of a master the silence dwells. The artist, living his „golden times”, uses this silence to tempt the visitors to make associations with the help of his browns, ochres, yellows, deep green or red, framed sometimes with clear, sometimes with soft contours.
Let it make clear.
Looking at his artworks we can see the experienced master who gives himself to us. We meet the examinating artist, who fights for the final, matured till perfection picturesque forms.
The way the artist lifts the nonfiguration to a mythic level, that is the praise of the pure painting.

Here and now we can see the exhibiton of a painter, whose artworks can be found in the gerat collections of Europe. There are paintings by Kornis in the Louvre Museum in Paris, in the Modern Museum in Menton, in the Museum of Modern Art in Passau, in the Gallery of Modern Art in Pécs, in the National Gallery in Budapest. In the Albertina and in the Ludwig Collection of Mumok in Wien - to mention only some of them.
So here we can see the pictures of an internationally famous and highly acclaimed artist.
George Kornis is a fantastic, full with will to live person and artist, becouse on one hand with constructive methods , on the other hand from emotional drive, paints organic figures. All these are united by extraordinary cultured world of colours and by a metaphysical content searching the great mysteries and the purpose of life.

The pictures of George Kornis „speak”. His paintings grasp and reflect their meaning the same way as the spoken languages use the comparisons. Kornis makes the words visible. The word and the picture become identical. As he says: „For the last sixty years I have been painting the same picture.”
His colours have impressive effects. These paintings, colours and forms speak so exclusively by his own artistic language.
The endless tranquility but at the same time the great momentum that characterize his paintings gives the deep philanthropy of his credo.
That makes his paintings so impressive and mysterious.
